Cosentini’s Code Consulting and Fire Engineering Group provides external and internal clients with value-added fire engineering, life safety, and code consulting services. We provide practical solutions that integrate function with form, supported by in-depth knowledge and experience. 

Cosentini’s Mission Critical Group provides consulting, engineering design, and commissioning services for data centers and other mission-critical facilities. The group is composed of dedicated professionals specifically focused on the unique MEP/FP requirements of mission critical facilities. Our design and commissioning teams operate independently to assure the performance and reliability of critical facilities and infrastructure.

Cosentini Information Technologies provides telecommunications, audiovisual, and security design services to corporate, commercial, medical, academic, government, retail, industrial, transportation, and financial clients. We integrate multiple technologies to create innovative solutions to both simple and complex challenges. Today’s technology calls for close coordination and synergy among audiovisual, telecommunications, and security design services, as well as with engineering and lighting design disciplines. 

Our lighting design team collaborates with project leaders to provide innovative solutions,  with expertise from a variety of design disciplines including architecture, interior design, engineering, and industrial design.  We bring our strong creative and technical experience with good business sense to meet each owner’s needs.

Since its founding in 1952, Cosentini has always recognized that healthy indoor environments and energy conservation are not mutually exclusive, and that the ideal building system promotes efficiency, durability, and comfort. The firm has long been concerned with the thoughtful use of natural resources and environmental stewardship. We have played a significant role in the commercial adoption of innovative energy conservation technologies, realized in many significant built projects. We also have a long history of service to industry organizations such as the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Many Cosentini staff are LEED-Accredited Professionals with the experience and knowledge necessary for the development of successful LEED-certified buildings.

Cosentini understands the inherent value of developing sustainable buildings and aims to optimize building efficiency and promote sustainability for each project using an integrative approach.  Throughout design and construction, our sustainability team offers guidance and technical expertise to the client and project team.  We are driven to realize our client’s vision in a manner that fosters environmental stewardship and remains cost-effective.

Cosentini’s commissioning group provides testing, maintenance instruction, design review and LEED services for a wide variety of project types including office buildings, corporate headquarters, Tier IV data centers, academic buildings, laboratories, tenant interiors, hospitals, residential buildings and hotels. The advantages of commissioning include improved equipment maintenance and function, cost savings, and improved occupant comfort.

In recent years, Cosentini has added post-disaster expertise to our list of service offerings. A small, specially qualified team can strategize with building owners and utilities to develop disaster recovery plans and implement them. After Superstorm Sandy struck the New York metropolitan area in October 2012, this team was called on to deliver disaster assessment and mitigation services for New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) residential buildings throughout New York City; CitiGroup, 111 Wall Street; the United Nations International School (UNIS); and many more.
